At Saint James, worship is both expressive and intergenerational. Through music, dance, mime, and multimedia, we invite every person—regardless of age or background—to experience the presence of God in meaningful and creative ways.
Each Sunday, our worship is led by the Inspirational Ensemble, combining vocalists with a band that includes keyboard, drums, and bass. You’ll hear gospel, spirituals, hymns, anthems, and praise songs—each chosen to stir the spirit and help us connect more deeply with God.
Movement Ministries
Throughout the year, liturgical dance and mime bring visual and emotional depth to our worship. These creative ministries span generations and include:
Worshippers of Praise
(WoP): Intergenerational liturgical dance
Praise Warriors
Young men’s mime ministry
Adult Dancers of Religious Expression
(ADORE): Older adult women’s dance
Handbell Choir
Our Handbell Choir meets weekly on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. for practice. They offer their gifts in worship on special Sundays, contributing to the rhythm and richness of our shared praise.
Beyond Performance
Creative worship extends beyond performance. Audio-visual elements, seasonal visuals, and thoughtful space design—from Ash Wednesday through Advent—invite full congregational participation. Every expression of worship is shaped with “energy, imagination, and love,” making room for the Spirit to speak in powerful and personal ways.
